Whoa, Happy (late) New Year! Be sure to keep an eye on my "events" page as I update it throughout the year. I'm also blogging as often as I can. :)

March 21, 2014

I am so excited to be on submission! I haven't been on sub since TAKE THE REINS.

I am working on a variety of new projects. But never fear, Team Canterwood, I am writing Canterwood e-novellas. Even though the print series has ended, there are too many stories left to tell!

February 12, 2011

I can officially announce that I've signed a new four-book deal! The Canterwood Crest series has been expanded to *20* books! Yay! :) Thank you to Kate Angelella and Simon & Schuster for letting the series continue.

I'm booking lots of Skype classroom and book club visits! They've all gone great--not one technical problem. If you're a teacher or librarian, feel free to contaact me and check out my other site pages for details on Skype visits. A vlog explaining all of this will be coming soon.

I'm busy writing CHOSEN (the Canterwood Crest super special that comes out in May 2011.) When I'm not doing that, I'm working on my dark YA verse novel, KEPT, which I'm currently seeking representation for.

I've also just started a veeery basic outline for a gothic YA that I've been thinking about for over a year and am ready to draw up a proposal to fit.

October 2, 2010

I started looking for an agent this month to represent my YA projects. Yay! I'm using my real name, Jessica Ashley, for all future YA projects and keeping Jessica Burkhart for tween and MG.

The Jessica Ashley Website *just* got started, so you can check it out anytime at

I've also got a JA Twitter feed here! :) If you're an agent who's interested in learning about my project, feel free to send me an e-mail unless I've already queried you.
