Finished Best Enemies draft! Finally!

Yeeessss! I *finally* finished drafting BEST ENEMIES! This one took a lot longer (eek) than usual, but there was also a lot going on in my non-writing life. I started BE on March 20, so yeah, that took a while.

Now, I’ve got lots of editing to do on my own before it gets sent to Editor K. But at least the draft is down and I have words to rearrange and play with. Yay! πŸ™‚

What’re you guys working on? Update me!

Rival Revenge and Home Sweet Drama cover reveals!

Sooo exciting! EK gave me the go ahead to reveal the seventh and eighth covers for Canterwood Crest!

We’ve got Rival Revenge (CC #7) with Julia and Alison on the cover.

Covers copyright Β© 2009 Simon & Schuster. Photos Β© Monica Stevenson.

Then, for Home Sweet Drama (CC #8), Heather, Sasha and Callie are up to something…

Again, I’m so grateful to our photographer and the S&S art dept. They’re the absolute best.

Yay for covers! πŸ™‚

Chasing Blue is out early! :)

Well, it appears that Barnes & Noble is the first to release CHASING BLUE. Yep! I haven’t actually seen it Out There, but their site says it’s shipping.

Amazon is also in stock! That means I’ll resume my book stalking ways. I’d just stopped doing that, too. πŸ™‚

Yaaay! As always, thanks to AA, EK and S&S. ❀

About the book:

Home (Bitter) Sweet Home

Now that Sasha Silver and her horse, Charm, have proven that they’re worthy competitors for the Canterwood Crest equestrian team, Sasha’s psyched to get back to school…until self-proclaimed It girl, queen bee, and owner of the I’m-so-way-better-than-you-are attitude, Heather Fox, is assigned as Sasha’s riding partner.

Not. Good.

And when Heather starts spending a little too much QT with Sasha’s almost-boyfriend, Jacob, their partnership is put to the ultimate test.

Canterwood Crest #6 title reveal and photo shoot fun

Tallahassee Magazine just left a short while ago. They came and took pics for an upcoming article in the mag. Scott and Monica were wonderful and I had so much fun. Thanks for coming, guys. I appreciate it! πŸ™‚ I can’t wait to see the pics. Scott showed me a few on his camera and I thought the background looked great.

Also, I can reveal the title for Canterwood Crest #6! Little White Lies comes out on December 22, 2009. It’s now up on Amazon. Cool.

Back to editseditsedits.

Canterwood Crest #5 title reveal!

Best Enemies (Canterwood Crest #5) is now up on Amazon. Cool! It’s scheduled to release on October 20, 2009. I really love the title, too. Editor K came up with that and when I heard it, I was like, “Yep! Love it! Don’t change it!” πŸ™‚

The cover isn’t ready for showing yet, but it’s gorgeous. Trust me. It’s so good that it’s sick, actually. πŸ™‚

And, seriously, thanks again to everyone emailing me about Take the Reins and Young Rider! You guys are so sweet! πŸ™‚

Canterwood Crest in Young Rider Magazine

I finally found the March/April issue of YOUNG RIDER at my local Books-a-Million. See that β€œtrue story” bit at the bottom left corner? That’s the article about Canterwood Crest. If you see the issue, check it out. There’s a Canterwood giveaway inside, tons of pics and a fun Q&A. A few girls have already emailed me about the issue–thanks for saying hi! πŸ™‚

Big thanks to Lesley and Allison for running the article!

Yesterday, I met Jennifer from Tallahassee Magazine. We had a great chat at Starbucks and talked about Canterwood, mean girls and more. Thanks for interviewing me, Jennifer!

I’ve got a phone interview with the Lake City Reporter on Thursday. That means I don’t have to get dressed in my fancy interview clothes. Or, maybe I still will…I kind of like the idea of getting out of my usual writer clothes even for a phone thing. πŸ™‚

I just finished the outline for Canterwood Crest #5 and feel that relief of, “Oh, good. I didn’t forget how to outline or come up with ideas.” πŸ™‚ I *always* have that fear when I open a blank Word doc to start an outline. I’m convinced of the following:

1) I’ll have zero ideas.

or

2) My ideas will be super awful.

and

3) Agent A and Editor K will be like, “Um. What is this?”

But I made it through the outline. Whew.

And, finally, big congrats to agent sis Lauren Barnholdt! She posted a bunch of great news yesterday, including a new YA sale. Yay, L!

Tomorrow, tomorrow!

Even though many people have spotted TAKE THE REINS in stores, tomorrow is its official release day! Woo!

I’m trying (unsuccessfully) to stay focused on the TRIPLE FAULT draft. But really? I want to be out there looking for my book and, you know, shoving it into people’s hands. πŸ™‚

My local paper, The Tallahassee Democrat, is running an article tomorrow. I’m excited to see it and will post the link.

If you e-mailed me and I haven’t responded, I will! Promise! Your email is flagged for a response and you’ll get one. Before spring. Kidding.

How do you stay focused when you’re waiting for something? Share!
