Yaaay! Official Canterwood Crest Box set books 1-4

Hi, guys!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been CRAZY busy recently! A lot of it is . . . shhh . . . Canterwood Stuff. 🙂

Two very exciting things to talk about that each deserve their own post today.

First is this . . .cc box set june 2014

That beauty is a cardboard box set! It holds TAKE THE REINS, CHASING BLUE, BEHIND THE BIT and TRIPLE FAULT.

When I was obsessed with series as a young reader, I always saved up when I knew box sets were coming out. I’d give my books to a friend or donate them to my local library. Then I’d have brand new books in an awesome box/protector of books. Yes, I was/am very crazy about keeping my books in good shape. 🙂 Like, it I bent a corner on a page, it would bother me, LOL. 😀

The box set is also an awesome gift idea for birthdays and holidays. You could always gift it to a friend or cousin.

It went on sale yesterday! YAY! So, enjoy! OMG . . . I don’t even have one!! Ha.

xx

Wild Hearts draft 2 DONE! YAY!

.

Didn’t go to bed last night bc I wanted to FINISH WILD HEARTS!! And I did!! Turned it in just a little while ago.

Taking a Pinterest break. 🙂

Right now, my current obsession is with acapulco chairs!acapulco-multi-lounge-chair They come in EVERY color! Retail for almost $600. Amazon has them for $290 and I think eBay might have them even cheaper. *grabby hands*

Canterwood Breyer Horses!

A complete dream come true! Here’s the official press release:

Breyer Animal CreationsŽ to Release Models Based on Canterwood Crest Series

Author Jessica Burkhart to attend BreyerFest 2014!

(PEQUANNOCK, N.J.) May 28, 2014—Breyer joins Sasha Silver and her horse as they begin their adventures on the campus of the elite riding school, Canterwood Crest!  Breyer Animal Creations announced today that it is partnering with author Jessica Burkhart to release two book and model horse sets of the popular middle grade series, Canterwood Crest, published by Simon & Schuster.  The book and model sets will be at retail in mid June.

“Just like our models, literature has a wonderful way of creating a powerful connection to horses.  Readers of Canterwood Crest are just like our fans.  They are girls with imagination and creativity who love horses,” said John Serek, Senior Marketing Manager.

“I’m so excited that my books will be inspiring even more girls and horse lovers around the world,” said, author Jessica Burkhart.  “Breyer Animal Creations is the perfect partner for the series, since many Canterwood Crest readers already love their model horses!  Plus, I can’t wait to meet more Canterwood Crest readers at BreyerFest!”

Canterwood Crest follows the story of Sasha Silver, who is determined to prove she belongs at the elite boarding school in the first book of the series, Take the Reins. The set includes the paperback novel and a Classics® scale model of Charm, Sasha’s horse. The next book in the series, Chasing Blue, continues the story, and is accompanied by the model of Aristocrat, the horse of Sasha’s riding partner, Heather, the school’s haughty “it girl.”

Jessica Burkhart is honored to be attending BreyerFest Silver Jubilee this year as a special guest. Fans can meet their favorite equestrian author up close for daily readings and insights about the Canterwood Crest series.  Horse lovers and fans can even get models and books autographed by the popular author herself!

BreyerFest Silver Jubilee is Breyer’s 25th annual festival for fans of the world’s finest equine models and horse lovers, to be held July 11-13, 2014 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. This fun, family-friendly festival brings more than 10,000 people to Lexington to celebrate the world of horses and the model horses that are inspired by them!

This is a link to the first two horses that will be available in June. As of this moment, they’ve got the horses mixed up. 😉 But don’t worry! They’re on it!

I absolutely cannot wait to sign books and horses at BreyerFest!

I wish I could sleep, but . . .

Notice anything, oh, I don’t know, WEIRD on my desk?

Yep. And when I go out, I’ve got one in hand or in bag. Since the 19th, my apartment and two others have been broken into or attempted to break in. I am the only one who hasn’t had a break in–only attempts. How do I know? The paint scraped off my front door. The bent metal where someone put a crowbar or other object.

On the 19th, my 3rd floor neighbor’s place was broken into around 12:30-1pm when he was upstairs in my place. Robber took his wallet.

Same time, guy robs new girl’s also 3rd floor apt and steals her Mac laptop.

Neighbor, M, and I freak out. I call 911 and 30 mins later cops come. They’re not super interested since this isn’t a big deal in Brooklyn, I guess.

We got the locksmith over immediately and he installed this beautiful lock. You need that plastic card and me to make a copy of that key.

Did the landlord pay for our locks? Our $200 locks? Nope. ImageImage

Instead, he fixed the broken front door (yep, we had no barrier between us and the street) and wanted to be patted on the head for doing something.

I spent $60 on 3 of these bars: 1 for my front door and 2 for the balcony doors. There are two doors on my floor that are locked but lead to each of my terraces. Then, you can get into the apt if you break the sliding glass door. I put steel rods in the tracks of the sliding doors. Also turned on the patio lights. They’re never going off.  Image

ImageI also ordered these from eBay and the fake cameras that are identical to the ones I installed in my old apartment building. The landlord is supposedly working on cameras next week, but it won’t happen. He had the nerve to ask me to put up the fake ones if he “couldn’t afford” the real cameras. Dude, you’re a landlord. NO.

So I’m usually asleep to early afternoon because I’m awake until 6:30-7am because I’m listening for sounds of a break in. Even if I tried, I couldn’t sleep. Too nervous about him getting in and letting a cat out or hurting one of them. It’s so crazy. I’ve lived here for 5 years and nothing like this has EVER happened before.

Back to work! At least I can disappear to Lost Springs–my town in WILD HEARTS. 🙂

I loooooove Target! Get ready for summer!

Hi!

I am sooooo busy. OMG. One book due at the end of the month and the other the very next week.

In addition to all of that, I’m fighting through a bad bout of depression.

I’ve found gardening to be a fun, chill activity. I’m proud when a flower I buy doesn’t die in 48 hours! 🙂

Target has been EVERYTHING lately! Check this out . . .

Image This is an awesome water/tea/whatever dispenser. LOVE! It was $9.99 at Target!ImageAround midnight, I was out on the back terrace. I planted these seeds. Last time I planted seeds, nothing happened. 😦

Image  I passed this in Target and did an abrupt halt and turned to grab these. So sunny! ImageHere are the flowers. One is just coming back from the brink of death. ImageOn Tuesday, I went to Joean Beauty Group w M and we both got microdermabrasions. LOVE IT! Thanks to Living Social, the prince was cut in half. I’ve got a gift certificate to go back and I can’t wait. Living Social has been so amazing. I just booked a handy man last week for household stuff that I need done. Also thanks to LS, I’m going to Blondi’s Hair Salon next week and getting a keratin hair treatment. Usually $400! NYC friends, it’s $99 right now! Insane!

ImageThe plant that didn’t make it. Poor Orange. I revived the other one.

ImageAll three munchkins like, Hey! What are you doing outside at midnight! Get in here. LOL

Okay, gotta run back to work. Next blog: Target’s GORGE yellow furniture and a fab corner IKEA table!

Oh. So I have a HUGE GIANT AMAZING secret that I’m now allowed to tell anyone!! 😦 BUT it is going to be announced within the next two weeks. So stay tuned. That’s only one of my secrets . . .
