YouTube Contest!

While we wait for the publication of FAMOUS on June 11th, I think it’s time for a CONTEST! 🙂

THE RULES:

You must be a US resident (So sorry international readers!) to win a prize
International readers CAN enter, but if you do win, you won’t be able to receive your prize
There are no age restrictions
You must have a working e-mail address so I can get in touch with you if you win

WHAT TO DO:

Create a YouTube video that’s 3 minutes or less about anything Canterwood! Get creative!

Upload it to your YouTube channel and e-mail me the LINK, NOT the video. I don’t have room in my inbox! 🙂

Send the link to jess_burkhart AT hotmail DOT com

Put “YouTube Contest” in the subject of your e-mail

The deadline is May 5th, 2013.

That gives you one month! 🙂 No entries will be accepted after that.

HOW THE WINNER WILL BE CHOSEN:

You don’t need a fancy, expensive program to create a video. For PC users, you can use Windows Movie Maker, if you like, and it comes free with your computer. I’m sure MAC has a similar program.

Three winners will be chosen based on:

* Creativity. Some ideas: discuss your fave character and why, talk about your fave book, do a slideshow of book covers, shoot yourself with your horse and a copy of your fave CC book, create a trailer for one of the books . . . you can do anything! Just keep it 3 minutes or less!

* Following all the rules. Any entries that don’t won’t be accepted.

* Capturing the Canterwood spirit!

* I will choose the winner. The decision will be posted here on May 12th OR May 19th depending on how many entries I receive.

THE PRIZE, YOU ASK?

Three winners will have their choice of ONE of the following:

A phone call from me

A Skype session with me

A signed copy of FAMOUS

A FEW MORE RULES:

You must put your first name and first initial of your last name in your e-mail with your video link along with your age. I’ll post the video on my blog and credit it like “Amanda K. age 11”

I will TRY to post all videos on my blog after the winners have been announced so you all can see the awesomeness that I know will be created. 🙂

GOOD LUCK! Post any questions you have here and I’ll get to them ASAP! If you could blog, Tweet, Facebook, etc. about the contest, I’d so appreciate it!

xoxo

Remember me?

HELLO!

OMG, it’s been forever since I’ve had a second to blog!

First, I had to move. It was crazy because my landlord gave me very little time to get out and I had to find a safe, nice, pet friendly apartment that was close to K. I found an amazing 1 bedroom and moved last Saturday! I have so much more space and Bliss and Bella love it. Plus, I’m just as close to K’s house as I was before. BFF requirement, you know. If you’re friends with me on Facebook, I posted a ton of pics of my new apt there. 🙂

Plus, it’s like Christmas time around here. I’m in the middle of writing HOME FOR CHRISTMAS–the LAST EVER Canterwood book! *sniff* I Tweeted this spoiler, so if you don’t want to know STOP reading:

The book is in two points of view! It alternates chapters between Lauren and Sasha! It’s been a BLAST writing from Sasha’s POV. I missed Sassy Silver like crazy.

I’m also working on two more projects (details to come soon, hopefully!) and am probably the busiest I’ve ever been.

Catch me up with all of YOU guys!! How is everyone? Who has Easter plans? Or just plans for the weekend?

Missed you all and promise to blog again very soon!

xoxo

Thank you, Team Canterwood! :)

I wanted to take a moment from writing Sekrit Project 1 (aahhh! Can’t wait until it’s no longer secret!!) to thank you all for grabbing a copy of JEALOUSY. It’s such an important book to me because it’s the second to last in the series before the grand finale of the Super Special.

I can’t believe we’re HERE. I’m in complete D-E-N-I-A-L that the series is coming to an end. If anyone tries to talk about it, I want to stick my fingers in my ears and go LA LA LA CAN’T HEAR YOU!

That said, I’ve got some ideas that I’ll try to make happen (that’s honestly all I can say for now). Cross your fingers.

What did everyone do this weekend?

xoxo

Excited for Jealousy!

I’m soooo excited because JEALOUSY releases tomorrow! WOO HOO!

When you grab your copy, def leave a comment and tell me!

**If you write a spoiler about the book, please, for the other members of Team Canterwood, write SPOILER at the beginning of your comment.**

I’ll be signing stock copies sometime this weekend at the Park Slope Barnes & Noble. I’ll also try to sign some copies around the city next time I’m in Manhattan.

Cheers to book #17! 🙂

xoxo

Jealousy relases in ONE week!

It’s ALMOST time!

Time for what you ask?

Time for the release of JEALOUSY! Next Tuesday! It’s up for pre-order on Amazon and BarnesandNoble.com. Plus, you can ask your local bookstore to pre-order it for you. Definitely let me know when you’ve got your copy! I can’t wait to hear what you think!

Eeeeeep!!! I’m SO pumped for you guys to read this book! It’s the second to last of the Canterwood books to take place at school. WAH! But I just finished FAMOUS, the last book, and it was a crazy-sad-strange-proud moment when I got to The End.

And we still have Home for Christmas. Did you see my SECRET Tweet about HFC?? If not . . . Sasha AND Lauren will be co-narrating the book! THAT’S RIGHT!! Miss Silver is back and you’ll get to read from her POV again. I am SO excited to write from her lip gloss loving brain. 🙂

Long time no blog!

It’s been crazy busy since I last blogged! I turned in the final draft of CC #18 and am working on the outline for HOME FOR CHRISTMAS.

There are SO MANY EXCITING THINGS I want to tell you guys!!!! I can’t share two of them yet, but I can tell you one:

Canterwood books 1-8 were picked up by France for foreign publication! What does that mean? It means the first eight books will be translated into French, might get new covers, and will be sold in France. Squeak! 😀

Um, let me think . . .  I want to give you guys hints about the other ridic cool news.

One is horse related. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Nothing to do with Canterwood or Wellington Prep.

The other is quite a fantasy come true. 🙂

Hope I can share soon!

xoxo and be safe if you’re in Nemo’s (silly name, right?!) path.

I’ve got a new agent!

I’m incredibly excited to announce that after three years, I’ve signed with a new agent! I’d taken a break from the agent world and had been so busy writing Canterwood that I hadn’t started searching until recently.

I’m so lucky and grateful to have been signed by the AWESOME Rubin Pfeffer of East West Literary Agency. This recommendation is all thanks to my bestie, Kate Angelella, who personally knows Rubin and thought we’d be a good match. As always, (don’t tell her I said that!!) it appears K was right. 🙂

Happy, happy holidays!
