Sayin’ hi!

Hi, guys!

I am so sorry the blog has been quiet, but it’s all for a good cause–I promise! 🙂

JEALOUSY is due soon, so I’m finishing it up and trying to make it supersparkly fun. I’ve also been sick (boo) and took medication that made me even *more* sick. How wrong is that?! I finally got on the right antibiotic and am getting better.

Gotta get back to writing (Lauren’s like, “Hey! You left me mid-sentence!”) and I hope you’re all having a good week!

I love you, Team Canterwood!

xoxo

Comeback contest!

Hey, all!

Taking a quick break from working on JEALOUSY to post about a new contest (yaay!) for COMEBACK!

The prize?

One winner will be drawn at random (using a site that mashes numbers and picks one) for a 15 minute Skype chat or phone call with me!

If you’re international, you’re eligible to win *if* you have Skype.

Otherwise, if you’re in the US, it’s up to you if you’d like to video chat via Skype or talk on the phone. (I’ll call you so your long distance bill won’t go up.) 🙂

How do you enter?

Leave a review of COMEBACK on Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com, Booksamillion.com, or another site that sells COMEBACK.

After your review is posted, leave a comment here directing me to your review (like, tell me your name that you used to review, where you posted it, date of post, and a link if possible). If you’ve already reviewed COMEBACK then leave the same info in the comment.

Deadline: September 1, 2012

I will announce the winner on September 2nd!

Good luck and THANK YOU, Team Canterwood, for helping to spread the word about CC!

The Letter Q: Queer Writers’ Notes To Their Younger Selves A great video from Scholastic that goes along with the book titled above.

It’s true. Kristen cheated on Rob

Sad. So, according to, well, EVERY magazine it appears that Kristen Stewart did cheat on boyfriend of four years–Robert Pattinson.

Not going to judge Kristen or her choices.

Instead, I wonder if this will affect the final movie, BREAKING DAWN part 2, when it hits theaters. Will people be in love with Bella and Edward knowing that “Bella” cheated on “Edward?” Did K. Stew and Rob’s relationship make their love in the movie that much more beautiful? Or would the films have turned out the same if both actors had hated each other?

Personally, I liked that Kristen and Rob were an off screen couple. As a crazy Twilight fan it made the Bella/Edward scenes a little more romantic knowing the actors were together in real life. I’m not going to pop in NEW MOON and scream, “Edward! Find someone else! Bella cheated on you!” Um, if I DO . . . please call the closest psychologist and make me an appointment. 😉

As an outsider who loves the books and movies and has grown to know and love the actors, I hope K and R work it out if it’s meant to be. For everyone’s sake, I hope their PR team doesn’t get anxious and try to force the two into a fake romance until BREAKING DAWN part 2’s premiere.

What’s your take on this sitch?

Little behind the scenes shot . . .

Since COMEBACK’s release is approaching (hurry, hurry, August 7th!) I thought I’d share this behind the scenes photo that someone at the photo shoot took. I think it’s fun to see how the COMEBACK cover came to be and hope you guys like this inside peek.

I’m writing like C-R-A-Z-Y on the newest Canterwood book. 🙂 What’re you guys doing this weekend?

xoxo

A note to Team Canterwood from Editor K

Read the original message here.

(Hi, guys. I’m writing this for Kate. :) )

To all Jess’s superawesome Canterwood fans,

I just want to thank all of you for being such amazing and devoted fans of the series and of Jessica. Jess has been by my side for every doctor’s appointment and every single night spent in the hospital. For those of you who have ever spent even one day in a hospital, you know how lonely it can feel and how much you miss the people you love.

I’ve been lucky enough to have my best friend and partner in crime beside me keeping me supplied with the best magazines, DVDs (and a tiny portable DVD player), and keeping me glossed and looking sparkly in makeup that she applied for me.

Not only have I had an incredible friend and companion in Jess, but I feel like I’ve had all of you with me in spirit as well. I can’t thank you enough for your e-mails, letters, prayers, and kind words of encouragement. I want you all to know that none of them have gone unnoticed and most of all I want to thank you for your patience while I heal and get back to the computer to co-write the first e-novella in Wellington Prep–dominate.

I promise we are going to make this book worth the wait!

Thank you, all, for helping me get better. Every single one of you. Keep on reading and writing and before you know it, you’ll have something new to read. :)

Hugs and sparkles,

Editor K

June is Adopt a Cat Month!

June is a special month! It’s Adopt-a-Cat Month!

Many wonderful organizations that support cats, dogs, and other different animals are offering discounts, free spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and other incentives to adopt a kitty during June.

A few of the big supporters are the American Humane Associate, the Humane Society of the United States, and the ASPCA.

In mid-June (likely around the 16th–when my book deadline is over!), I will be auctioning off a few items on e-Bay. One hundred percent of the money raised will be donated to the AHA in July.

I’ll post when auction items are up! I’d love your help in supporting the beautiful, loving cats. ❤
