FINALLY! A glimmer of hope in the form of an orthopedist

This doesn’t seem like something one would be excited about, but I’m ecstatic! I’m FINALLY going to see an orthopedist!!

FOR MY STUPID, DUMB, BUSTED ELBOW!!

Humana agreed to let me see Dr. Bruce Holladay at Commonwealth Ortho and he has amazing, awesome credentials. Now, that said, I saw many doctors in NYC with “amazing, awesome credentials” who were complete ____ (insert four letter word of your choice there!). They either called me a drug addict, dismissed my claims of pain, decided to drug me like crazy or told me to take Tylenol (ha!), didn’t care that veins around my elbow are black or that I couldn’t DO MY JOB. But I have high hopes for this guy. And that’s scary. High hopes have equaled dashed dreams for lots of past doctors. But we’ll see. Please keep your fingers crossed. I need this appointment to go well. I’ll let you all know when it’s scheduled!

What are you all up to this weekend? I’m watching the Kitten Bowl and checking in on the Super Bowl for Team Spirit for my Cali fam. 🙂

Tomorrow’s my birthday!

I’m so excited! Tomorrow is my birthday! Today’s my last day as a 27 year old. 🙂

My friends are taking me to a piano bar where you can call out songs for the pianists to play. Um, Gaga, Britney and Christina, anyone? 😀

I went into my friend’s office on Monday and Tuesday to work and today we all stayed home. The Friends are coming over later to watch tennis and have dinner at my place. I was working on Sekrit Project 1 for EL. I finished it, sent it and now I wait! I got an email last night that Agent Jenn had sent my new Other Project to Editor Aly. So, I’m officially on sub! Cross your fingers for good news.

Today, I’m working on Other Project 2 and my newly announced partnership with YOUNG RIDER Magazine. I teamed up with them to write an exclusive novella for YR that begins in the May issue. It will be 2-3 installments so you’ve gotta grab the May issue to get started. The first piece is due March 1st so I’ve got to get started for Editor Lesley.

I’m back from vacay!! I had a fantabulous time in Cali with my sisters, Lex and Grace, and the rest of my CA fam. 🙂 It was sooo good to see everyone–I’d missed them so, so much!

Guess what?! Heatherly, the girls’ trainer, took me RIDING! She let me exercise a quarter horse with her on one of the trails near her neighborhood in Coyote Park. I rode Spirit–a sweetheart of a mare. It was an easy walk through the suburbs to a flat trail and it was P-E-R-F-E-C-T! Thank you, Heatherly! ❤ ❤ ❤

Plus, I got to spend lots of QT at Edelweiss Farms, Lex and Gracie’s barn, and it was heaven. I took a lot of pics and spent a lot of time hugging horses.

I’ve got some work stuff that I WANT TO TELL you guys, but I can’t yet! 😦 😦 #majorlysad But as soon as I can, you can bet that I will!

I’m at the office with B and A, so back to work, but love you all!

For those of you who haven’t had the distinct pleasure of meeting Stacey Jay, she’s a tremendous YA author whose talent is equaled only by her kindness. I met her at the Las Vegas Book Festival. I entered a room (where I knew almost nobody) wearing a giant poofy, sparkly prom dress and Stacey immediately made me feel welcome. That’s the kind of person she is.

Unfortunately, Stacey’s book sales haven’t been strong enough for her publishing house to keep her on as an author. And at the end of the day, if a publisher feels like they will make more money investing in someone…
